I provided Fortune with several perspectives about the case and the court’s decision in favor of Michael Hewitt, an oil and gas company worker who made more than $200,000 a year. The overtime question related to how his daily pay was determined.
Since employment laws can change, I noted that employers should make a habit of looking at their wage and hour compliance efforts. I also said companies should also keep good records of what they pay employers and the hours they work.
