GOBankingRates Features Granovsky & Sundaresh in Response to Viral TikTok Workplace Agreement Video

GOBankingRates, noting a TikTok video about departing employees not signing paperwork, asked Granovsky & Sundaresh PLLC to weigh in on the topic.
I offer several perspectives in response to the article, “Viral TikTok Lawyer Says Not To Sign Paperwork When Leaving a Job — Do All Attorneys Agree?
For example, I note that a severance agreement (also known as separation agreement and release) essentially is an exchange between an employer and an employee who agrees not to sue if he or she gets money. I mention that there are circumstances where it’s in a worker’s best interest to sign an agreement.
I caution that an attorney should review the document and that it may be time to renegotiate if an “employer isn’t offering you adequate consideration.”
