New York/New Jersey Severance Agreement Attorney

Negotiating a Better Severance Agreement Package

Your employer is not required to have a severance pay policy, but your employment contract (to the extent you have one) or company policy may address severance benefits that your company must provide to you.

If you have lost your job in New York or New Jersey we may be able to:

  • Obtain a severance offer (to the extent you have not been given one)
  • Review the severance package you have been offered
  • Negotiate a better severance package for you (for example, we may be able to increase the amount of money you receive, or add benefits such as outplacement services, extended medical benefits or other insurance, or a job reference to help you find another job)

Even if your employer does not have a severance plan,  our New York and New Jersey employment lawyers may still be able to negotiate a severance package for you. If you have already been offered severance pay, an employment lawyer at our firm may be able to improve the offer or modify its terms.

Our New York and New Jersey employment lawyers are experienced at reviewing severance agreements to help protect your rights and interests. We can explain the terms of your severance offer, identify unreasonable, unfair or unenforceable provisions, and try to convince your company to correct, improve or modify them.

Our New York and New Jersey employment lawyers are here to protect your legal rights. Please contact us for a free initial consultation.
